She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. In her free time, Dr. Benson enjoys cooking, playing with her Australian shepherd Ella, and spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Graham graduated from Ross University, School of Veterinary Medicine. He completed her clinical year at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Graham also holds a Bachelor of Science from Loyola University Chicago in Biological Sciences and a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Sciences from Colorado State University. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. In his free time, Dr. Graham enjoys reading, playing with his Bichon Frise puppy ‘Naggie’, spoiling his niece, and spending time with his family.
Lina Northam

Dr. Northam studied at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale on a football scholarship, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology in 1994. Later, she attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Sciences and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. After graduating veterinary school, Dr. Northam was a mixed animal, small animal and relief practitioner. She also owned a one doctor small animal practice for 6 years. Her hobbies include boating with her family and waterfowling. Dr. Northam, her husband, and their daughter share their home with a Cock-a-doodle named Frank.
David Gates

Dr. Gates graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and also received a BS in Animal Sciences from the University of Illinois. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association. His professional interests are surgery, dentistry, and internal medicine. Dr. Gates likes baking, traveling, and spending time with his friends and family. He also has a rescue puppy named Larrabee, who he loves playing fetch at the park with.
Aaron Springthorpe

Dr. Aaron Springthorpe joined North Avenue Animal Hospital in October 2023. He grew up in Edgebrook before traveling to the University of Florida for college. There, he received a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Materials Engineering before making the switch to Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Springthorpe graduated with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida in 2018, after which he completed a year-long rotating internship at a specialty hospital in Long Island. He practiced for several years in the Tampa, FL, area before returning home to Chicago.
He has a special interest in veterinary behavior and prides himself on client education and low-stress handling. Outside of work, Dr. Patrick enjoys playing video and board games, watching horror movies, and spoiling the family gray-muzzle doggo Seamus (and his niece and nephew Goldendoodles).’
